I appreciate those who chose. The comments were rubies and its fun seeing yalls answers.
Here is what each desire translated into:
I desire more people notice me I desire to help people not feel alone I desire to be heard I desire to be seen I desire to share knowledge I desire to feel financially competent I desire to build something meaningful in the shimmer
Organically grow via reels (the DACers who learn this have a vein of gold waiting for them) Starting a weekly newsletter like feasting friday (vulnerable personal sharing newsletter) Start a podcast Create professional quality image and video with just your phone Start an educational youtube channel Create a personal finance system that optimizes for clarity Create a website
For those curious, here is how I came to these:
- Graham sent me a list of the most commonly request/voted missions
- I tried translating them into desires to hopefully get a clearer sense of what yall want
- I tweaked some requests to optimize for compounding knowledge assets
What are Compounding Knowledge Assets?
This is one of the most important ideas at the heart of the DAC.
First, let’s cover the basics:
- We live in an evolving universe always at the beginning of infinity
- This infinitely evolving universe is made up of knowledge and matter (quantum physics, computation, epistemology, and evolution)
- Good Explanations allow humans to combine knowledge and matter to transform reality (preserve meat in salt, launch rockets, terraform planets, intergalactic space travel)
- Our lives, at their very core, are defined by the set of Good Explanations we have, and how well we can find and learn new ones
- 99% of the pain the world can be reduced by sharing or discovering a Good Explanation
- A Good Explanation in the shimmer compounds (one of learns to create a website and shares it, we all can learn to create a website)
A compounding knowledge asset is a good explanation in the shimmer.
We’ve called these Dharma Artifacts.
Dharma Artifacts are one of the most powerful ways to help the billions lost in the Shimmer.
The Mission: Virgo 1
(this image sucks but it’s the closest I could get GPT to a Zodiac Games logo; submission box is open lol)
The winner, with 44 of the 125 votes was; “I want to build something meaningful in the Shimmer”
This means building a website.
Mythopoetically, I think about this like I’m building a Cathedral Forest in the Shimmer.
godseysirony.blogspot.com was my first attempt
More than a decade later, it looks like erickgodsey.com and kathedraling.com
There are four game modes:
Easy: Create a single page website from scratch
Medium: Create a website from scratch that has an email portal
Hard: Create a website with a ‘lead magnet’ + email portal
Mamba: Website + email portal + Lead Magnet + Purchasable Dharma Artifact
Start slowing down your breathing and extending your exhales if this stirs you up.
At least 1, maybe more, of whoever the winners will be will likely be people who currently don’t know how to do this at all and share authentically, vulnerably, and effectively, how they figured out how to do this on their own.
I hope you all let this land in you.
The people who don’t know how to do this have the advantage if they’re brave, authentic, and transparent.
Defining The Conditions:
Easy Mode:
Create any kind of page on the internet that we can find via typing in a url.
Hint: If you choose this mode, whatever you put on the page, make it dope.
Medium Mode:
Easy Mode + we have to be able to sign up to your newsletter somewhere.
This means you’re going to have to create an email, link it to a emailing service, and embed a form on your website that works.
The only technicality is whatever service or tool you use for capturing emails, it qualifies if it allows you to export the list as an .csv file.
If you don’t know what that means; either choose easy mode or decide to teach yourself.
Hard Mode:
Medium Mode + you created something of value that is automatically delivered to our email when we give you our email.
This means you’ll have to create something (hopefully dharmic) that lives in the Shimmer.
This means you’ll have to learn how to create automations through your email client.
Learning how to do this is a fundamental skill in the current Shimmer landscape we live in (if you want to be financially free)
Mamba Mode:
Hard Mode + sell something.
I’m not going to explain this one.
The people who will do it are people who don’t need me to explain it.
Learn how to do this, and its reasonable to expect replacing your current income with dharma artifacts in 1 to 2 years.
Details
- People aren’t obligated to watch your submission. You will have to earn their attention. Focus on making the first 90 seconds great.
- Max submission time is 90 minutes, but we recommend shooting for 20 to 30 minutes (I want the audacious to have the space to ball out)
- If you don’t know how to do this at all, you’re actually in the best situation (show us how you used the shimmer to figure it out)
- AI RULE: you can use AI to figure things out, but you can’t use AI to write for you.
- You have to write your own words to qualify.
- Request but not required: Record how many sprints it took you to complete this project
- don’t exaggerate. count. developing this habit now will pay off for the rest of your life
- Your submission is due by September 22nd at 11:59pm CST
- Graham will create a portal for you to submit your post at the bottom of this article in the next week
- Voting
- On September 23rd we will post a link to a Notion page where all the videos will be listed in rows of 5.
- They will be displayed in order of submission
- you can submit as early as you’d like
- the benefit of submitting early is a higher spot
- the cost of submitting early is less time to work on it
- I am open to other display ideas, I don’t think this is the best design.
- Voting will happen September 23rd through September 29th (1 week)
- Votes will be cast via a survey
- Voting results will be announced September 30th
- 1st place will get $2000, 2nd and 3rd will get $500
- Do not post your submission in DAC. We’re going to reveal them all at the same time.
- when you’re ready to submit, come back to this page and upload into the portal
Hints:
- Find exceptional case studies of other people, deconstruct them, and teach them to us
- Creating something that benefits people in DAC will likely increase your chances of winning you win
- Creating something that benefits people in DAC that ends up selling us something is high risk/high reward
- if you create something for a price people love, you’ll probably win
- if you create something for a price people don’t love, you will certainly lose and may sour some people’s opinion of you
- and this is a part of learning to hunt in the shimmer baby!
Big Hint:
Commit to an experiment so audacious and interesting that even if you fail, the story alone will make you a winner
Example:
Every day for the rest of the month you record yourself getting rejected.
- asking for discounts
- asking for phone numbers
- asking strangers to do odd requests
- asking to get into private venues
- asking a police officer to skip with you through the park
Upload your experiment to to your single webpage along with a blooper reel
There are a million ways to do this mission creatively.
The winners will likely be people who both teach us how to create a website and make us feel something.
Summary:
Virgo 1 mission: Create an expedition that teaches us how you created a website.
Easy: a single page of a website for a url that you own
Medium: easy + let us give you our email
Hard: medium + give us something cool in exchange for our email
Mamba: hard + let us buy something dope
Submission is a video.
Do not submit in DAC. Submit to Graham directly.

Remember, if you play, you’ll win, cuz you’ll learn even if you lose.
Good luck.
I can’t wait to see what yall create.
ps. I’ll add amendments to this post if needed
