I had an idea this weekend (Caitlyn gets the credit for the name)
This is the synthesis of the desire to
- pay DAC members for creating cool ish
- inspire yall to learn how to use the shimmer
- get yall making dharma artifacts
- get DAC to generate dharma artifacts for the Shimmer at large.
Every month, at the start of a new Zodiac sign, DAC will post a Shimmer Mission.
A Shimmer Mission is a quest/expedition, voted by the DAC, that Dharma Artists can accept as a challenge.
The mission will be to learn something from the Shimmer and teach the DAC via an expedition.
Anyone level 3 or higher can play (because the Expedition form is required to play the game)
The top 3 submissions, as voted on by DAC, will get paid (purses will grow as DAC grows, the first game will be 2k for 1st, and 500 for second and third).
(If this scares you are stresses you out, its okay. Relax, keep doing your thing, and enjoy the shares when they come).
Example: Virgo 1
August 22nd was the beginning of Virgo season.
Since this is the first Virgo Mission, it’ll be called the Virgo 1 mission.
Let’s say DAC votes on the mission “How to organically grow on IG (so the people who would benefit from your dharma can find you).”
Let’s say 40 people accept the mission.
They each will have until September 23rd at 11:59pm CST to submit their expedition.
Each Dharma Artist can only submit one expedition and the expedition must be under 91 minutes.
DAC will have three days to cast their votes (each member gets three votes).
The three winners will get paid, and in exchange for money, DAC will post their expeditions on the DAC youtube page (this will be a public good DAC gives the collective for free).
If you play the game right (use How To Create A Dharma Artifact while you do the challenge); you’ll end up with a dharma artifact.
This game design will create multiple wins:
- All who play will deepen their knowledge of the essential skill by having to teach it via the expeditions
- All players who submit an expedition will get honest metrics on the quality of their work (this will help you mature as an artifact creator)
- Winners get paid
- Everyone in DAC learns
- Anyone who uses the How To Create A Dharma Artifact framework during the challenge will find themselves in possession of a personal dharma artifact by the end
- The Zodiac Games will help DAC members anchor to an earth-based calendar
- The expeditions will be dharma artifacts DAC shares with the Shimmer via the DAC youtube page
The bright-line rules:
- Do not copy (don’t buy someones course and rip them off, you can buy a course that teaches you, but distill it in your own unique way)
- All final submissions will be intellectual property of the Dharma Artist Collective (aka all DAC members will have access to these videos without extra charge via the DAC classrooms)
- In exchange for the prize money, DAC gets to share the top three submissions on the DAC youtube channel as a public good to the shimmer
- Each person in DAC gets 3 votes per zodiac game
- Submission must be in the form of a single 91 minute or less video
- To be eligible, you must be at level 3 by 12:01pm on the first day of the Zodiac for that month.
Considerations for Voting:
- Is the expedition effective?
- Is it supported by evidence?
- Is it creative?
- Is it clear and easy to understand?
- Is it unique?
- Did the creators run an interesting experiment?

- how to create and grow a newsletter
- how to sell organically with reels (or stories, etc)
- how to start and grow a podcast
- how to create professional looking videos with an iphone
- how to turn your story into a dharma artifact
